This explains what personal information Coastline Run Club collects through coastlinerunning.com, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can. We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Who we are
Coastline Run Club is a running club in North Wales. We decide how your information is used, which makes us the data controller under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). For anything about your information, email [email protected].
What we collect and why
Email updates
If you sign up for updates or for Performance drop 001, we keep your email address so we can send you news about runs, events and new kit. We only do this because you asked us to (your consent). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. We keep your address until you unsubscribe.
Contact form and emails
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message. We use them only to reply and deal with what you asked about, because it is in both our interests to do so (legitimate interests). We delete messages within 12 months unless we need them for an ongoing conversation.
Visiting the site
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic technical details (browser, pages requested, time) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. This is in our legitimate interest in running a secure site. We don't use this to identify you.
The "Browsing from" line at the bottom of each page shows your approximate location and local time. The location is worked out by Cloudflare from your connection, rounded to about a kilometre, and sent back only to your own browser. We don't store or log it.
Cookies and storage
We don't set any cookies, and we don't use analytics or advertising tools. Your browser keeps two small settings for this site: whether you chose light or dark mode, and your answer to the cookie notice. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
If we ever add analytics or anything else that needs your consent, we will ask first and update this page.
Other services on the site
Some parts of the site show content from other services. When they load, those services can see your IP address:
- Instagram (Meta): photos from our Instagram account, on the Monday nights page.
- OpenStreetMap: the maps on event pages.
The run stats in the top bar come from our public Strava club page. We fetch them on our side, so your browser doesn't contact Strava. Links to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Strava take you to those services, and their own privacy policies apply there.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the services that help us run the club, and only for the purposes above:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website.
- Hostinger, which provides our email.
- Our email newsletter and form providers, once those forms are switched on.
Some of these companies may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK law, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum. We never sell your information or share it for marketing.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children
The site and our mailing list are for adults. If you are under 13, please don't send us your details. If we find we hold a child's information without a parent's permission, we will delete it.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
